Artist Statement: Painting is my main focus. Various activities including music and building installations provide a synthesis developing a nuanced language derived from the overall effects of collage. The language of paint is similar to music in that layers are built up to resolve an idea into a simple tune. The notes bend and stretch to create interesting shapes, while the plasticity of paint provides some rare insights.
